Clara Grace Watson
Clara Grace Watson, a Mississippi native, received her B.F.A. in dance education from the University of Southern Mississippi. She holds her dance licenser, K-12, and is the only dancer to have completed the dance education program at USM in three years. Clara Grace is in her final year of working towards her MFA in dance performance and choreography at Belhaven University in Jackson, MS while simultaneously teaching as adjunct faculty. She taught dance in the public school system for two years prior to Belhaven. Clara Grace continues to pursue other avenues of performance and instruction, such as showchoirs, musical theater, colorguards, winterguards, dance studios, and high school bands. She performed with the 2008 Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corp in their show Spartacus, where they won the DCI World Championships. Most recently, Clara Grace has presented her research involving community college dance programs, both individually and with fellow panelists, at the National Dance Education Organization conferences. She also serves as the dance instructor for the Mississippi Lions’ All-state Band, who are the reigning international champions.
