Front Porch Dance and Power APAC present:
Power of Movement - An afternoon of dance benefiting Power APAC’s theater renovation fund

Front Porch Dance, a Jackson-based contemporary dance company, will present Power of Movement, an afternoon of dance benefiting Power Academic and Performing Arts Complex’s (APAC) theater renovation fund, on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 3:00pm in Power APAC’s theater at 1120 Riverside Drive in Jackson. The diverse original choreography presented will feature new works created by the company members and will highlight dance students at Power APAC. In addition to the dance performance, Power APAC students’ artwork and current happenings will be displayed. Tickets to the performance are $15 at the door – we hope to see you at 3pm on February 27th.

Front Porch Dance aims to foster energy, excitement, and a deeper sense of community through the creation and performance of original choreography. The title of our show, Power of Movement, encapsulates this belief and reflects the many possible definitions of movement including: drive, effort by many, rhythm, change of position, motion, and dance! This title is partially inspired by the name of the organization with which Front Porch Dance is currently collaborating: Power APAC, which serves students in Jackson Public Schools in grades 4-12. Power APAC provides intensive training for academically and artistically talented students with advanced programs in academics and the arts. This is precisely the kind of organization that Front Porch Dance desires to serve and support. Therefore, ALL proceeds from the ticket sales of Power of Movement will benefit Power APAC’s theatre renovation fund.

Performers include: Krista Bower, Carleigh Chitwood, Elle Ciccarone, Audrey Dent, Lynn Forney, Deborah Loo, Bethany Philipp, Erin Scheiwe Rockwell, Stefanie Wright, and Mia Whitehead along with Power APAC dance students.
